Azerçay — Scroll-Story Concept Website

01

About the project

This website for Azerçay is an internal NS Studio concept project: it is not a client commission and not the official site. Our goal was to tell the story of a well-known tea brand — the journey of a glass of tea from leaf to glass — through scenes that unfold as you scroll.

In Azerbaijan tea is not just a drink, it is a table culture. That is why the site is built around the rhythm of brewing: the visitor moves unhurriedly from the soil of Lankaran-Astara to the leaf, from processing to the brew and the tea table.

The result is an interactive site with tea varieties, a cart, a brewing timer and sound effects. The concept shows how NS Studio approaches brand sites within our website development work. The Azerçay trademark belongs to Azersun Holding; this concept is not affiliated with Azersun.

From Leaf to Glass: Story Rhythm and UX/UI Design

The story has seven scenes: Soil, Leaf, Processing, Tin, Varieties, Brew and Table. Each scene opens with its own colour — from the green of the tea plantation to the deep red of the brew.

  • Processing scene: withering, rolling, fermentation and drying — how a green leaf becomes black tea, step by step.
  • Varieties and cart: Buket, Bergamot, Xalça and Green tea cards, the armudu-glass-shaped tin and add-to-cart (in concept mode).
  • Brewing timer: the “Don’t rush the brew” scene with a 7–8 minute brew and a colour scale: light, amber, deep red.
  • Visual language: deep red backgrounds, golden accents, a classic serif typeface, carpet patterns and the armudu glass.

The final scene, “Buyurun, çaya!” — a table with sugar, lemon and jam — closes the story with Azerbaijani tea culture.

Technical Build: Scroll Scenes and Mobile Adaptation

Every scene is built in code and moves with the scroll: tea pours, steam rises and scenes flow smoothly into each other. A loading screen is shown while the scenes prepare, and sound can be switched on when wanted.

The site runs smoothly on both desktop and mobile — on phones the scenes are adapted to the vertical screen. Because it is not an official site, the concept is hidden from search engines (noindex).

We can tell your product’s story the same way. See more of our work in the portfolio, or get in touch to discuss your project.
